Vector NDT is a small service company dedicated to the welding community.
Forrest Lissner, President and CEO, is an AWS CWI and ASNT NDT Level III with over 30 years of experience.
A Member of The American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and The American Welding Society (AWS), Mr. Lissner now serves on the executive committee for the Detroit Chapter of AWS, where in 2021 he was honored with the title of CWI of the Year.
Beginning in a small welding and fabricating shop in Wixom, MI, Forrest spent a decade working with structural steel in the Metro Detroit area.
In the 2000's, another ten years was spent offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding fabrication and shipyards performing NDT with both structural and tubular T- K- Y-connections.
Another decade passed before Mr. Lissner’s inspection career launched, but starting in 2010, Forrest was chasing work across the nation.
Now, Mr. Lissner’s resume lists such titles as welder, fitter, Level II UT/MT/PT technician, Level III UT/MT/PT technician, Certified Welding Inspector, Auditor, Structural Specialist, NDT Supervisor, Responsible Level III, Working Level III, Bridge Inspector, Lead Bridge Inspector, and then ... QC Manager for an AISC accredited fabrication program that included Building Manufacturer, Bridge Manufacturer and Bridge Component Manufacturer with Sophisticated Paint and Fracture Critical endorsements for Major Bridges.
As QC Manager, Forrest wrote, implemented, and maintained an AISC accredited Quality Control Program with a full in house NDT program for UT/MT/PT testing. Mr. Lissner provided a full gambit of process procedures and documented inspections, including; protective coating applications, NDT testing, daily narratives and VT inspections, Camber, Bolting, Rotational Capacity, and NCR's. Mr. Lissner was responsible for writing maintenance and calibration procedures, maintaining QC/NDT/Welder certifications, testing welders and writing WQTR's, testing welding procedures (WPS's) and recording procedure qualification records (PQR's), organizing records and maintaining 100% traceability, and performing daily welding inspections.
Mr. Lissner performs inspections in a thorough and professional manner backed by over 30 years of experience with welding and fabricating.
